Security forces in Peru's capital Lima used tear gas and pellets as thousands of protesters clashed with them hours after President Dina Boluarte called for a truce. Large groups of people from remote Andean regions came to Lima to demand Boluarte's resignation and immediate elections. "We can't have a truce when she [Boluarte] doesn't tell the truth," a protester said.
