The Indian government on Tuesday declared the Chief Launching Commander of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen, Showkat Ahmad Sheikh, a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 on charges of spreading terror violence in Jammu and Kashmir. Born in Baramulla, Showkat alias Showkat Mochi is based in Pakistan. Imtiyaz Ahmad Kandoo, another member of the outfit, has also been declared a terrorist.
