Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi set was created by 700 craftsmen in seven months in Mumbai. A news report stated that Bhansali had conceptualised the three-acre set for 18 years. The set featured a royal palace, grand quarters, a white mosque, courtyard, shops, kothas and a huge hall. It was the biggest set made by Bhansali in his life.
