An SUV which was carrying an EVM partially sank in a river after the water level rose suddenly and washed away a mechanised boat that was ferrying the vehicle in Assam's Lakhimpur, officials said. The driver and polling officer managed to get out of the SUV. "The EVM, meant for replacement, was damaged in the accident," an official said.
