The TISS in Mumbai has suspended a Dalit PhD student, Ramadas Prini Sivanadan, for two years, apparently for violating the institution’s discipline codes. Ramadas allegedly “misused” TISS’s name during a protest march in Delhi against the Centre’s anti-student policies. The Progressive Students Forum, however, claims that TISS is indirectly suppressing dissent against the BJP government.
