On March 22, 2024, the Centre extended the ban on onion exports indefinitely. Now, the ban is rattling the political landscape of a part of Maharashtra's onion belt -- Deola taluka has shut doors to Lok Sabha campaigning. Signboards have been installed across the taluka, announcing the entry of candidates campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls has been barred.
