Saurabh Mukherjea, founder of Marcellus Investment Managers, a ₹308 crore portfolio management company, said buying a house today is not a smart investment decision in India, as borrowing rates are around 7-8%, whereas rental yields are only 2-2.5%. He addressed the emotional aspect behind home-buying but suggested it's better in one's 30s, depending on work relocation needs.
