Facebook sent a letter to The Ad Observatory, a New York University (NYU) project, demanding they stop their research on the platform's political advertisement targeting algorithms. Facebook said the project's use of scraping tools on its platform is a violation of its terms. "We don't collect anything about user interaction with the ads," responded a researcher on the project.
