India's gem and jewellery exports dipped by 38.1% in July to around ₹10,185 crore due to weak global demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) stated. Exports stood at around ₹15,112 crore in July 2019. GJEPC Chairman Colin Shah said that he will promote ease of doing business to help manufacturing and exports.
