The Railway workers union has threatened to take "direct action" on October 22 if the Railway Ministry doesn't issue orders to release their productivity linked bonus by October 20. The government is ignoring a "legitimate" demand of railwaymen who worked 24X7 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) said. The bonus is usually paid before Durga Puja.
