If you have diabetes, you are at risk of developing liver disease. Three out of five Indians with diabetes will develop fatty liver disease, which means that your liver is storing excess fat. This extra fat deposition in the liver can lead to scarring of the liver and an end-stage liver disease called cirrhosis. Diabetes speeds up pre-existing liver disease.
