It was discovered that a traveller arriving at Mangalore International Airport on May 5 from Dubai was smuggling gold valued at Rs 40,40,220. The 578 grams of 24-carat gold that was taken into custody was valuable. The passenger attempted to illegally transport valuable gold valued at millions of rupees. He was a resident of Mogral Puttur in the Kasargod district.
