DeepSeek raises $15 billion to take on OpenAI, Anthropic

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has raised around $15 billion in one of the country's biggest funding rounds, to compete globally with OpenAI and Anthropic. The company increased its fundraising target at least twice during discussions with investors, including CATL and Tencent, which operates WeChat. The funding could pave the way for one of China's most anticipated market debuts in years.
