How to report capital gains from shares, mutual funds, ETFs in ITR?

Taxpayers earning capital gains from shares, mutual funds or ETFs need to file ITR-2 to avoid errors. Report all gains in the Capital Gains schedule by providing transaction details, sale value, acquisition cost and the resulting gain or loss. Equity gains are treated as short-term if held for up to 12 months and long-term if held for longer.
