India achieves world's first in robotic heart surgery

Doctors at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital performed the world's first robotic systemic atrioventricular (AV) valve replacement on an adult with two rare congenital heart defects. Using a modified minimally invasive robotic approach, the team successfully replaced the damaged valve, marking a major milestone for cardiac surgery and advanced healthcare in India.
