Indian defence indices fall as HAL loses 6% in intraday trading

The defence indices fell on Thursday, with Nifty defence index dropping nearly 168 points and BSE defence index down by 110. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd was among the top losers, falling over 6% intraday. HAL shares slid after reports said the Defence Ministry didn't shortlist it for a fighter jet programme and that it could delay deliveries of Tejas Mk1A aircraft.
