Only 36% of Indian wealthy families have documented succession plans: Study

Only 36% of Indian family businesses and wealthy households surveyed have a documented succession plan, while 42% have broad agreement but nothing in writing, according to a Grant Thornton Bharat and Entrust Family Office report. Among families with wealth of ₹100 crore to ₹10,000 crore, 54% view succession as continuous planning rather than automatic inheritance.
