India reports 27,553 new COVID-19 cases, daily positivity rate rises to 2.55%

India has reported 27,553 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The country also reported 284 deaths, taking the death toll to 4,81,770. India's active caseload reached 1,22,801, while the daily positivity rate rose to 2.55%. Notably, 1,525 cases of Omicron have been reported so far in the country.
