A total of 25 US states, including Florida and Texas, are seeing spike in COVID-19 cases, according to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, marking return of a 'summer wave'. This is reportedly due to mix of fading immunity, new COVID-19 variants and summer behaviour patterns such as travel, crowded gatherings, and people spending more time indoors with air-conditioning.
