Tamil Nadu extends COVID curbs till Jan 31, complete lockdown on Jan 16

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday extended the existing COVID-19 restrictions till January 31 and ordered a complete lockdown on January 16 (Sunday) amid rising cases. To avoid crowding, people will not be allowed in places of worship between January 14 and 18. Special inter-district buses for the Pongal festival will run at 75% capacity.
