Tata Chemicals on Thursday announced the Income Tax Department has imposed a penalty of ₹103.63 crore on the company for a violation related to the disallowance of interest. The company plans to appeal against the order before the National Faceless Appeal Centre. "[Tata Chemicals] reasonably expects favourable orders from the appellant authorities," a filing said.
