The Income Tax Department has found ₹42 crore in cash hidden in 23 cardboard boxes under a bed in a house allegedly belonging to an ex-corporator in Bengaluru. The department has deployed cash counting machines to ascertain the final amount of money. It's being investigated if the money was supposed to be sent to Telangana ahead of assembly polls.
