The Election Commission said that it seized cash worth ₹785.26 crore and liquor worth ₹249.038 crore till the fourth phase of ongoing elections. Narcotics worth ₹1214.46 crore, gold and precious materials worth ₹972.253 crore and other freebies worth ₹53.167 crore was also seized. The poll panel had appointed 97 expenditure observers for the fourth phase of polls.

In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. MEA said all visas issued would be revoked from April 27, and medical visas will remain valid until April 29. "All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas," it said.

An Army jawan was killed-in-action after an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Udhampur on Thursday, according to Indian Army's White Knight Corps. The jawan had sustained grievous injuries during the initial exchange, it added. This comes two days after the terror attack in Pahalgam, in which at least 26 tourists were killed and several others injured.

Former BJP MP and current head coach of the Indian cricket team Gautam Gambhir has received a death threat, via email, from an entity calling themselves 'ISIS-Kashmir', reports said on Thursday. He filed a complaint with Delhi Police on Wednesday, seeking measures to safeguard his family's security. Cyber Cell is currently tracing the origin of the email.
