₹1,000 cr needed to rehabilitate Assam flood victims: CM Himanta

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said ₹1,000 crore is required to rehabilitate the flood affected people, after floods claimed over 100 lives and affected more than 1.3 lakh people. He said PM Narendra Modi and the Centre had assured assistance. The state government said compensation would include around ₹37,500 for each cattle and ₹5,000 for damaged handlooms.
