₹12,000 monthly doesn't cover food, travel: J&K medical interns on strike

Medical interns in Jammu and Kashmir are on indefinite strike over low stipend and 36-hour shifts, adding that ₹12,000 per month doesn't cover cost of food and commute. The interns said some states offer stipend of ₹43,000, while Jammu and Kashmir's stipend has been the same since 2019. They added that a government-constituted committee earlier recommended to revise the stipend.
