The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday said over ₹18,000 crore worth of state land is under illegal encroachment. Health Minister Sakina Itoo, who was replying on behalf of the Revenue Minister, stated that of 2,15,905 acres occupied, 1,92,457 acres have been reclaimed and 39,205 acres are yet to be reclaimed. The retrieved land is being allotted to landless people.
