Two separate cybercrime cases registered at Udupi's Malpe police station involved a woman, Kavita P (36), duped of ₹3.9 lakh via a fake NSE-linked share bidding scheme, and a senior citizen, Raghavendra Mattappa (73), scammed of ₹50,000 through a bogus stock trading app. Both cases are under investigation with charges filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and IT Act.
