₹4000 cr expressway to reduce travel time between Bhopal, Indore

Madhya Pradesh is planning a ₹4,000-crore, 160-km six-lane greenfield expressway between Bhopal and Indore. The new access-controlled corridor is expected to reduce road travel time from around four hours to approximately 2 to 2.5 hours by avoiding congested towns and intersections on the existing route. The project is being pursued ahead of the 2028 Simhastha in Ujjain.
