Union Finance Ministry on Monday said that LIC invested ₹5,000 crore in secured non-convertible debentures issued by Adani Ports and SEZ in May 2025, taking its total investment in the Gautam Adani-led conglomerate to ₹48,284.62 crore as of 30 September. The ministry stated that centre had not issued any direction or advisory to LIC to invest in Adani Group companies.
