Indians lost over ₹52,976 crore to cyber frauds and cheating cases over the past six years, The Indian Express reported citing Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) data. In 2025, losses stood at ₹19,812.96 crore, with 21,77,524 complaints. Maharashtra recorded the highest losses in cheating-related offences, followed by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana.
