The BCCI is considering expanding IPL season to 94 matches from 2028 without introducing new franchises, ESPNcricinfo reported. The league expanded to its current 74-match format in 2022 following the sale of GT and LSG franchises. Inaugural IPL had 59 matches, while IPL 2012 and 2013 had 76 matches each.
