A new MIT study found 95% of organisations that adopted AI reported zero returns on investment, indicating its use has no measurable impact on profit and loss (P&L). Despite $30-40 billion AI investment by firms, AI's usage enhanced individual productivity, not P&L performance, the study noted. This comes as dozens of companies fired thousands of employees globally over AI adoption.
