BP Chairperson Helge Lund announced plans to step down as the oil company faced pressure from Elliott Investment Management which had built up its 5% stake seeking change. Helge has been Chairperson since 2019 and will exit in 2026, the company said. His departure comes after BP in February dismissed the strategy to reinvent itself as a green energy company.
