'Didn't know US has hurricane season,' says FEMA chief, criticised

David Richardson, newly appointed acting Administrator of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), said he hadn't been aware that US has a hurricane season. US hurricane season officially began on Sunday and lasts through November and around 10 hurricanes are expected this season. Democrats criticised Richardson, with top Senator Chuck Schumer saying, "Unaware of why he hasn't been fired yet."
