The Karnataka Labour Ministry, in an interim report, said the mass trainee layoffs by Infosys didn't violate any labour laws, as per reports. "There was no employee and employer relationship...They were trainees for three months who were paid stipends," a state government official said. Infosys laid off over 300 trainees after they failed evaluation tests earlier this month.
