Demand for robotic wolves, known as "monster wolves", has risen across Japan amid a surge in fatal bear attacks. Made by Ohta Seiki, the robots equipped with flashing LED eyes and loud deterrent sounds are being deployed across schools and farms. The overall number of casualties, including both deaths and injuries, from bear attacks climbed to 238 in FY25.
