'Mount Everest air' holds key to slowing Parkinson’s symptoms, study finds

Scientists found that chronic exposure to reduced oxygen levels, like those at Mount Everest's base camp, may help counter Parkinson's-like brain damage in mice. The treatment halted neuron loss and improved motor function, even after symptoms appeared. Researchers said this could pave the way for new therapies, including a possible "hypoxia in a pill", pending human trials.
