More than ₹9,330 crore remains unclaimed in 30.91 lakh inoperative EPF accounts as of March 31, 2026. During FY26, both the number of inactive accounts and the unclaimed corpus declined. Recently, the Centre notified the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme, 2026, replacing the 1952 rules to simplify provident fund regulations and digitise services.
