Pak govt may amend Constitution to extend Munir's tenure: Report

Pakistani government is reportedly planning to pass 27th Constitutional Amendment to legally secure Field Marshal Asim Munir's position and extend his tenure as Chief of Army Staff beyond the end of his official tenure in November. Pakistan's service chiefs were granted five-year tenures through a legal reform in 2024. However, the rank of Field Marshal remains undefined in Pakistani Constitution.
