Russia plans to launch Venera-D mission to Venus in 2036

Russia is planning to launch its Venera-D mission to Venus in 2036. The plan includes sending a lander, balloon probe and orbiter to explore the planet's atmosphere. Soviet Union's Venera 1, launched in February 1961, was Russia's first Venus mission. Venera-D was reportedly considered as a possible joint mission with NASA before Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
