Congress called his remark "shameful" and sought his apology. Bidhuri defended his statement, saying Lalu Prasad Yadav had made similar remarks on BJP's Hema Malini.

Crude oil prices fell to their lowest levels since 2021 after China retaliated with fresh tariffs in response to US President Donald Trump's levies. Brent futures dived by $5.72 to $64.62 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude futures lost $5.90 to $61.05. Brent crude, the global benchmark, has plunged more than 10% in just two days.

China's finance ministry on Friday said it will impose additional tariffs of 34% on all US goods from April 10. This comes as a countermeasure to the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. China's State Council Tariff Commission stated that US' actions violate international trade rules and constitute unilateral economic coercion.
