The Tsunami of women centric Direct Benefit Transfer schemes announced by various states can bleed finances, an SBI report said. The report stated the total cost of these schemes across eight states has now crossed ₹1.5 lakh crore, accounting for 3-11% of these states' revenue receipts. It added states like Odisha can bear these costs due to higher non-tax revenues.
