AI startup Assessli CEO Suraj Biswas revealed he worked as a Zomato delivery agent to pay his college fees, support his team and stay financially independent. Adding that he stands with Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, he claimed he earned ₹40,000/month and knew riders earning ₹80,000-₹90,000/month. "This was independent gig work, not forced labour," he said about outrage over 10-minute delivery.
