About 8000 IT professionals in Bangalore have come forth to join the National Disaster Management Authority's Civil Defense Wing. The members are recruited only after undergoing a 3-level training and a background check. The team contributes during accidents, disasters, elections and festivals. During the Malleshwaram blast this year, this team rushed to the spot and helped with rescue.
