1.1 bn people living in multidimensional poverty, most in India: UN report

As many as 1.1 billion people live in acute multidimensional poverty, a UNDP report said. The five countries with the largest number of people living in poverty are India (234 million), Pakistan (93 million), Ethiopia (86 million), Nigeria (74 million) and Congo (66 million). People are considered multidimensionally poor if they're deprived in at least one-third of the weighted indicators.
