Scientists have uncovered mummified remains of cheetahs from caves in northern Saudi Arabia, with some dating from about 130 to over 1,800 years old. According to a study, the dry conditions and stable temperature of caves may have contributed to the mummification. Researchers suggest that the caves could have served as denning site where mothers birthed and raised their young.
