A new study published in Diabetes Care shows that a one-hour blood sugar test after consuming glucose can help identify hidden risks for diabetes. People with one-hour plasma glucose levels above 120 mg/dL despite having normal fasting or two-hour readings were significantly more likely to progress from normal glucose tolerance to prediabetes over time.
