1 hour of bedtime screen use cuts sleep by 24 minutes: Study

Each additional hour of screen time is linked to 63% increase in insomnia risk and 24 minutes less sleep, a Norwegian study found. The associations between screen time and sleep outcomes didn't differ for social media use versus other activities like watching TV series. "Social media may not be considered worse than other screen activities in disrupting sleep," researchers said.
