The Gujarat High Court acquitted a man accused of cruelty and abetment to suicide of his wife 23 years ago, by saying that one incident of a man slapping his wife for staying at her parental home without informing him is not cruelty. "And persistent, unbearable, continuous beatings would require cogent evidence," the HC commented.
