The richest 1% of Indians own 58.4% of the country’s wealth, making India one of the most unequal societies, according to data on global wealth from Credit Suisse. The number has steadily increased from 49% in 2014 and 53% last year. There are more than 100 billionaires in the country with Mukesh Ambani being the richest.
